Earth's History
About 15 billion years ago, with the Big Bang, an incomprehensibly large explosion, the Universe began to expand and matter, energy, space and time came into being. As the Universe expanded, the debris from this explosion began to cool down and be condensed into gas clouds, and eventually stars and planets. It was in one of these planets, our planet, the Earth, took form about 4.6 billion years ago. After that, the geological processes shaped the surface of our planet, moved the tectonic plates, built mountains and eroded them again over millions of years. These processes provided the ever changing conditions for life, which adapted to those changes. Now, the understanding of Earth has deepened greatly and new theories and technologies have been providing further insight into Earth's dynamics. In this digital museum, Earth's history, the most important scenarios in Earth's history and evolution are displayed in a simple-to-access, easy-to-understand way to help our intended audiences to obtain a scientific intuition of the entire earth system, its component parts such as land, sea, atmosphere, and their interactions, to get an image how they function and how they may be expected to continue to evolve on all time scale.

Virtual Museum of Architecture
The Virtual Museum of Architecture, as a knowledge repertory,is based on "The History of Chinese Architectural Science & Technology"partly compiled by Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, and on the Chinese history as a main line. From the angle of architectural science & technology, the museum more effectively popularizes scientific knowledge on architecture for the public, especially youngsters by the means of the modern technologies, including Network, Multimedia, and VR.
All the scientific resources in the museum are arranged with two clues horizontally and vertically. One clue is divided by the chronicle order into ten periods that are prehistoric age, Xia-Shang-Zhou, Spring and Autumn Period, Qin-Han Dynasty, Wei-Jin, Southern And Northern Dynasties Period, Sui-Tang, Song-Liao-Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. The other is classified by the kinds of architectural elements, which are cities, palaces, residences, gardens, religious buildings, ritual buildings, tombs, towers, documents, architectural technologies, materials and other stuff. Moreover, three special parts, multimedia viewings, world architecture outlook and Chinese residential buildings outlook, are also included. And the multimedia viewing part, covering the best parts of all what we mentioned above, is vividly showing us the spectacular achievements in Chinese traditional architecture practice made by ancient Chinese people.
In conclusion, the Museum has built up an opening platform of architecture pedagogy. It informs the whole society with the greatness of the Chinese architectural culture, and improves people's awareness of continual development. At the same time, as a network of architectural knowledge and a space for free communication, the museum, shares architectural ideas, experiences and resources, sorts out cultural heritage of architecture, and provides services and supports for the whole society.

Science Exploration
Ever since the modern humans moved out of Africa some 50,000 years ago, our ancestor has its footsteps of expansion and immigration printed along the track of human history. In expanding to the unexploited lands of mystery, new knowledge and technology are developed and thus boost the human society. Based on the human expansion to and scientific research at the South Pole, North Pole and Great Canon, the project of "Science Exploration" is designed into the following 4 parts, "Scientists Interviews", "I Love Science Cinema" (TV program provided by Sesame Workshop and China Education TV Station), "South Pole, North Pole and the Great Canon" and "Stories behind the Scene", so as to make the audience better understand the on-going scientific exploration events and propaganda the spirit and courage of entering the unknown and mysterious lands.

Water is essential for life. As a very important natural resource on the Earth, water is crucial for sustainable development. It is the very foundation of modern civilization and industry. The primary focus of this section, water resource, is to review how water resource were developed and utilized in the past and to discuss its current conditions and problems. Various statistical data, charts, pictures and case studies deliver a consensus that protection of water resource is the urgent task of our human being. As a side box, Three-Gorges dam, South-to-North Water Transfers program and some other important hydraulic and hydroelectric projects are introduced in this section. We hope to provide a wide perspective and multi-facet view to the development and utilization of water resources in China nowadays.
